Yesterday we went to Idaho. We visited Minidoka and the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls.
Minidoka is a Japanese-Americans war relocation camp. After the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in December 7, 1942, President Roosevelt incarcerated 120000 Japanese-Americans. It was the largest compulsory relocation in the U.S. history. The american government forced Japanese-American to leave their homes and jobs to go live in camps under armed guard. From August 1942 to October 1945 live over 13000 Japenes from Washington, Oregon, California and Alaska in 600 buildings in five miles of barbed wire fencing with eight guard towers around it.
